Gravestone so stiff and silent

Has a history that is somewhat defiant.

A little boy not just thirteen

Struck by a bullet,

And killed instantly.

A statue of a child praying sits

On top of his headstone.

The child looks so brave and happy.

Leaves protect his death date,

And questions surround his fate.

How can a little boy be the

Tragic victim of someone else’s mistake?

Frozen in time

Unable to ‘be’ once again.

A senseless killing; who is to blame?

Just another one of those things called pain.
